I was so excited to see him, that I stood in 10-blocks line for hours to reach the place and found out that I was and am not tall enough to see him clearly with thousands of people before me, so anti climax: I went home not long after he started to speak. My energy has been sucked out for cheering for Jamie Foxx and friends. Don't blame me, Mr President! I do love you :)
I know, I am Indonesian and Indonesians are proud of our elementary education system that introduced Obama to the world and eventually brought him to Harvard Law School *if you know what I mean*. We are just so.so.so proud of him, either because we genuinely are or because there is nothing we can be really proud of lately, that we sometimes exaggerate the fact that he spent only 4 years in Indonesia. I'm saying WE, so don't be angry, I am included. *Of course I am included! I spent hours standing in line to see someone that didn't even aware of my existence. I am a fan though I have neither his face patched on my wall nor Obama-Anak-Menteng-the-movie in my must-watch list.*
I felt the excitement, as other Americans or Non-Americans did. Oh please, we don't care about "what" we are (as oppose to my lovely Communication and Culture class that asked us to analyze this event). Just bring him out! We wanna see him! Or in my case, I wanna listen to his voice, and most importantly I wanna tell everyone I did. LIVE.
It's all about the feeling people, the experience. *Wide eyes.Cheer.Faint*
